"Sophie, you look beautiful tonight. I couldn't have picked a better plus one."
Eamon smiled
"Don't tell, Manny"
Eamon stepped out of a 60's era blue Aston Martin. It was in excellent condition. He ran his gloved hand across the hood as he walked to the passenger side. A woman exited the vehicle. A beautiful brunette wearing dress, heels, and shades from the Versace collection. A valet smiled at them both. Eamon playfully tossed him the keys.
"Be gentle with her"
The valet drove off to park the vehicle. Seconds behind him, another Aston Martin followed after him. It was Manny. Eamon's trusted number two man. Eamon and Sophie entered the lavish building that was Restaurant Guy Savoy. It was named after famous chef Guy Savoy and was known for its New French cuisine. One of the best restaurants in Las Vegas and reservations were often full. Eamon was welcomed and led to his table. The two walked by dimly lit dining rooms, all of them empty except for staff. The restaurant had been closed for hours, but stayed open for a select few. As they walked, Eamon could hear chattering up ahead.
"They seem lively, Sophie. This should be a interesting night"
Eamon and Sophie entered a large dinning room to see 12 people. They were mid-conversation when he arrived and were awe-struck when Eamon arrived. So young Eamon thought to himself. They were in their mid-20's. Eyes full of hope and vigor. Bodies lean and strong. He scanned the group and noticed that most of the men were staring at Sophie. Why wouldn't they. She had the body of the dancer and knew how to use it. But this did make Eamon a bit jealous. He spoke.
"Ladies and Gentlemen, forgive my lateness. Business matters. I invited you all here tonight for serious matters. To discuss the future of Las Vegas and possible the state of Nevada. You young and great minds have been pulled from the Democrats, the Republicans, and the Independents. You go out into the city and pull the data needed for current and future campaigns. You lay the ground work. I reward your hard work with this dinner. But I'm also here to test you. To pick your brains and to challenge you. So please, enjoy one last drink. We have matters to discuss"
The speech wasn't needed. The moment he spoke, they were all hooked. Even the staff who were hidden away. They hung on his every word. There were in....Awe...of him. Eamon smiled to himself and pulled a chair for Sophie. She hesitated. Sophie was still hynotized by Eamon.
"Sit, Sophie. We have business to attend to"
Sophie did just that. Eamon took his seat and scanned the group once more. All 12 looked at him with a longing he had seen many times before. He smiled and raised his finger. Eamon pointed to a young woman with glasses and watched her giggle.
"Tell me, young lady. What candidate impresses you and why?"
Eamon waved his finger at the rest and smiled
"I pose this question to you all. So think deeply"
Eamon returned his attention to the young woman and looked into her eyes. He waited for his answer.
"Please, child. Tell me everything."
Eamon smiled
