Attack - This action is used to attack another character's influence in a given sphere.
System - The attacking character rolls MAN or CHA + the number of points of Influence in that category the attacker wishes to use to attack the defender's influence. The defending character rolls per the Defend action below. Either character may lower the difficulty of their action (to a minimum of 2) or raise the difficulty of the other character's action by assigning levels of Resources, Contacts, and/or Allies to these actions. If the difficulty of the action is raised above 10, the action is impossible. For every success above the defending character's success on an Attack action, the character steals a level of influence from the defending character.
Defend - This action is used to defend against attacks to your influence in a given field.
System - The character decides how many levels of the given influence they would like to assign to defend against attacks in a given cycle. For that cycle, all Attack actions are defended as outlined, using the same pool. Once an attack action is declared, the defending character rolls MAN or CHA + the number of points of Influence in that category the defender wishes to use to defend their influence category that cycle. The difficulty of this roll is 10-character's influence level in that category. Either character may lower the difficulty of their action (to a minimum of 2) or raise the difficulty of the other character's action by assigning levels of Contacts or Allies to these actions. If the difficulty of the action is raised above 10, the action is impossible. One more success than the attacking character on the Defend action is all that is necessary for a successful Defend action. If the defending character scores three or more successes over the attacking player, they steal one level of influence from the attacking player. Only one Defend action may be initiated in a given category per cycle.
Grow - This action is used to increase a character's influence in a given area, or to obtain the first level of influence in that area.
System - The character rolls MAN or CHA + the number of points of Influence in that category the character wishes to use to grow their influence category that cycle. The difficulty of this roll is 10-character's influence level in that category. The character may lower the difficulty of their action (to a minimum of 2) by assigning levels of Contacts or Allies to these actions. One success is needed to grow the influence by one point. There is no additional benefit for successes above 1, and only one level of influence may be gained in this way per cycle. Only one Grow action may be initiated in a given category per cycle. If a successful Grow action would violate the influence cap in a given category, the action will automatically fail.
Investigate - This action is used to determine the state of the influence category. This action may be used to identify other influence-holders in that category, or the state of the influence caps, or other information. The information actually received is at the discretion of the staff, and there is no way to investigate specific information about a given influence.

The character rolls MAN or CHA + the number of points of Influence in that category the character wishes to use to investigate the influence category that cycle. The difficulty of this roll is 10-character's influence level in that category. The character may lower the difficulty of their action (to a minimum of 2) by assigning levels of Contacts or Allies to this action. The number of successes obtained will affect the amount and specificity of information received.
