It was near midnight on a Friday. A bar filled with young people was loud and live. Tonight was its grand opening and it was essential that everything went well. For this to happen, the bar would have to praised by customers and critics. One critic in particular. Off and away in a section of the bar, a woman sat alone. She was lost in her phone, her fingers pressing and swiping. She had a slender physique and wore a dazzling dress to show off her form. Her hair was black and she had green eyes, but you could only see them when she looked up from her phone. Several drinks and appetizers were on the table, but they were barely touched.
When she looked up from her phone, she would scan the bar and let out a sigh. She was visibly disappointed. She knew it wouldn't be long before the owner sent someone to check on her. She looked up from her phone and saw her waiter. He wasn't bring another drink, though. Her waiter was talking to a well dressed man. A very handsome man. They spoke for a short time and the waiter left. The man was coming her, but she was on business and her fans would be waiting for her review. She looked down and continued typing.
“Excuse me”
For a moment, the music was silent and time had slowed to a crawl. Those two words echoed in her head and she looked up.
“Hello, I'm Eamon McGregor. May I sit?”
She stared into his eyes and stuttered. She gathered herself and replied with a stern “No, I'm on business”. Eamon turned to face the crowd and smiled. He rubbed the bottom of his chin and turned to her again. Eamon, still smiling, stepped closer to her and spoke.
“Please, Miss. It would complete my night if you would allow me to sit and talk with you. It won't be long”
His voice was calming to her and his smile was so inviting. She couldn't help but smile and make room for him.
“Thank you so much”
Eamon sat beside her and waited. She was lost in her phone, pressing and swiping. When she turned to look at him, Eamon spoke. Only the two of them heard the words that were spoken. She placed her phone on the table and gave Eamon her full attention.
“That's better. So let's talk......”
